Real Weddings: Amanda & Matt – Simply Southern
Amanda’s father always wanted his daughter to meet “a nice, young man” and although it is rare that parents can pick out the perfect mate – dad knew best in this case! Matt and Amanda are a fun-loving couple who live life to the fullest and everything about their wedding reflected this.
Held at the picturesque Bradford, Amanda’s “tribe” of ladies in waiting each wore monogrammed robes as they had their hair and make-up done before the wedding just before Matt and Amanda were caught sneaking a few moments together, without actually seeing each other, to exchange gifts.
Amanda wore a sleeveless V-neck, fitted gown and her bridesmaids sported full length, bold maroon gowns and carried bouquets that contained matching blooms mixed with cream and white shades and lush greenery. The groom and his groomsmen sported khaki suits with maroon bowties and boutonnieres that tied in seamlessly with the bridal bouquet.
Guests enjoyed ideal outdoor weather as the bridal party (and a special furry guest) witnessed vows full of laughter and tears. Amanda’s PawPaw offered the most heart-felt marriage blessing for the couple and not a dry eye was left afterwards. Following the special ceremony, guests were ushered into a reception full of the most delectable southern fare such as braised short ribs and BBQ chicken and dancing that went on for hours!
The wedding decor included hand written calligraphy signs throughout to welcome and guide guests. Polaroid guestbooks were provided to capture moments from the guests point of view. Table centerpieces and decor were created to match the bridal party’s ensemble and feature fresh flowers and rich hues of maroon, creams and soft greens. Simple settings with gold flatware complemented the bold, regional theme beautifully.
The cake was a pure white, three-tiered delicacy, accented with fresh greenery on each layer, with a personalized gold topper. The ecstatic couple danced for HOURS with family and friends and exited to showers of sparklers that lit up the night. From start to finish, Matt and Amanda could not stop smiling, making this special day, one they’ll never forget!
