Real Weddings: Abigail and Benni – Plantation Perfect
Abigail and Benni said their “I Do”s next to the gazebo by the lake on the gorgeous Rosehill Plantation in Nashville, NC on May 12. Though it misted slightly during the ceremony, it was a gorgeous spring day, and the wedding was picture perfect.
Abigail walked down the aisle in a beautiful, romantic ivory gown with a multi-layered skirt of sheer fabric. The skirt fell softly behind her and seemed to whisper softly as she walked. The sweetheart bodice was attached to lacy cap sleeves with delicate embellishment. She wore her hair in a low chignon with a veil, and she carried a bouquet of cream and pale pink flowers with lush greenery all around. Brielle Chapman designed her hair and makeup.
Benni and his groomsmen wore suits with navy ties and a simple boutonniere with a cream flower. The bridesmaids wore pale pink gowns with a halter top and a lattice design across the bodice and carried simple bouquets of three cream roses with plenty of lush greenery.
More than 200 of their close friends and family celebrated as Abigail and Benni declared their love and commitment to one another by the scenic lake. After the ceremony, they moved inside the plantation house for the reception. The tables were dressed with white linens and topped with simple centerpieces of white and cream roses and other florals provided by Bushel + Peck. Table décor also included tall, clear vases with floating candles.
Instead of one ornate wedding cake, Abigail and Benni opted for multiple cakes from a local grocer. Some of the options included a simple cream cake with matching piping and topped with fresh roses, a chocolate cake covered in ganache, and a ruffled cream cake topped with berries.
The natural ambience of the Rosehill Plantation created Southern charm that perfectly complemented the décor. Wrought-iron chandeliers with candles hung from the ceiling, which included decorative beams and ornate cornices. Abigail and Benni danced for the first time as husband and wife as guests joined in, turning the reception into an unforgettable party.
The guests celebrated with dancing and toasts throughout the night. You could feel the love and respect among the family and friends celebrating together. Abigail and Benni are both close to their siblings, and you could feel that bond between them as well as how much the siblings would miss each other when the couple move away.
Photographer Christina Decamp captured all the special moments throughout the night, and Simple Lee Video got the celebration on video so that Abigail and Benni can watch their special day again and again for years to come. C&D Events helped the couple plan their special day, and everything came together seamlessly. Even the minor “glitch” of the light rain could not diminish the joy of the day as Abigail and Benni walked into happily ever after, through a shower of loved ones lighting the way.
