Real Wedding: Stephanie and Dan – All Aboard!
305 Trackside in Southern Pines was the perfect setting for Stephanie and Dan’s wedding, as they were full steam ahead to start their lives together as husband and wife. The antique train depot was built in the late 1800s, and its rustic wood beams and floors provided a lovely backdrop for the vintage-themed wedding.
Stephanie was the picture of timeless beauty in her form-fitting lace gown. The gown had a low back and a sweetheart neckline with thin straps, flowing out in a mermaid train, and featuring intricate detailing in the lace. She wore her hair down in loose curls and carried a bouquet of mostly lush, white blooms with a few deep red florals for contrast. Sprays of wild greens fell from all sides.
Dan wore a smoky blue suit with a garnet tie and a small boutonniere of white flowers. His groomsmen wore matching ensembles, and Stephanie’s bridesmaids wore garnet gowns in different styles. The ceremony took place on a train platform in front of a large, emerald door against a brick wall. Ivy covered the wall all around the door, and floating candles were placed in clear vases on either side. Guests sat in wooden chairs lined up along a rustic, wooden floor.
After the ceremony, the big green door was opened to let guests into the reception space. Guests were given custom train tickets directing them to their tables. Antique candle holders, vintage coffee cans filled with florals, vintage books, and garlands of greenery dressed the reception tables, which were lined up in a row on either side of the reception space.
Greenery and twinkle lights were hung from the exposed wooden beams to soften the space and give it a more romantic feel. Candles and crystal chandeliers also helped to fill the space with light.
A vintage trunk and hat boxes were set up to accept postcards with well wishes for the couple. 39 West provided the catering, and C Cups Bakery made the wedding cake and cupcakes. The wedding cake was a simple creation of a single tier covered in ivory buttercream. Fresh flowers in garnet, yellow, and lavender topped the cake, as well as the couple’s monogram. The cake sat at the top of a tower of delectable mini-cupcakes decorated simply with a mix of vanilla and chocolate frosting. All Around Raleigh DJs kept the tunes spinning to keep the guests out on the dance floor, which was in the same space where the couple previously said their “I Do”s. The train platform was open to the night sky, so guests swayed romantically together under the stars as the night went on.
Jenny B Photography captured the beautiful shots that the couple will look back on fondly when remembering their wedding. At the end of the night, Stephanie and Dan made their exit through an altar of sparklers held by guests. It was the perfect night, brought together by A Lovely Affair Weddings and Events.
