Real Wedding: Catherine and Mark – Marriage in the Meadow
Starlight Meadow is a breathtaking, age-old farm that has been repurposed for events such as weddings and family reunions. It has a wonderful, weathered barn that provides a rustic backdrop for events, as well as acres of farmland that provides stunning vistas. It was the perfect place for Catherine and Mark to get married and begin the next chapter of their lives together.
Catherine and Mark were married on a clear day just after the weather turned just a bit more fall-like. Catherine walked down a grassy aisle under a canopy of trees wearing a beautiful, lacy gown with a sweetheart neckline and intricate, lace straps. The gown flowed behind her in a long train adorned with lace applique and crystals. Bits of crystals and beads were sprinkled throughout the gown to give it a bit of shimmer. Catherine also wore an ornate crystal necklace and a finger-length veil with lace applique.
The bridesmaids wore bright blue gowns with different necklines, and they carried bouquets with cream, peach, and pink blooms. Bits of greenery and wildlowers were scattered throughout the bouquet. Catherine carried a similar bouquet that had a much larger collection of blooms and greenery.
Mark wore a simple ensemble of blue jeans, a white button-up shirt, and a black vest. Instead of a tie, he wore a bolo tie with a silver eagle and a turquoise stone. The ends of the bolo tie were wrapped in silver and accented with silver feathers. He wore a boutonniere of greenery and wildflowers. The groomsmen wore grey slacks with white shirts and bolo ties. Many details of the ceremony were deeply meaningful and personal to the couple. At one point, they asked select family members to light the unity candle to commemorate the joining of their lives and their families.
Guests moved inside the barn for the reception. The barn was decorated simply with strings of twinkle lights and rustic chandeliers. The side of the barn remained open, giving guests a stunning view of the sunset making way to the stars.
24 Blackbirds provided the catering, and Sweet Blossoms of Greensboro made the wedding cake. The cake was a three-tiered chocolate creation with nude frosting. A few fresh flowers were added to the top and to cascade down the side. Blossoms of Greensboro created all the flower arrangements.
Since Catherine and Mark celebrated their wedding inside a barn, it only made sense to hire a square dance caller and blue grass band for entertainment. Aaron Ratcliffe called the moves, and Joseph Decosimo and the Bucking Mules played the tunes.
Steven Jamroz Photography captured all the special moments of the day for the couple to remember vividly and at the end of the night, guests gathered to create an arch of sparklers they held in the air, and Catherine and Mark walked through it to make their leave. They gave one last kiss before the crowd before starting off together on their happily ever after.
