Real NC Wedding : Lauren & Adam’s Wake Forest Nc Wedding
Lauren + Adam
We are always so happy when we get to post real NC weddings, but this wedding holds a special place in our hearts. The bride is a former intern for Weddings Magazine, and it tickles us pink to be able to share Lauren + Adam’s Wake Forest NC Wedding with you! Lauren is beautiful inside and out and her wedding showcases her stunning personal style as well. The couple held their ceremony at The Sutherland, and their reception at TPC Wakefield Plantation Country Club, two stunning Wake Forest wedding venues. Congratulations Lauren and Adam!
How did you and your fiance meet and begin dating?
We originally met as campers at Camp Willow Run. My counselor at the time introduced me to Adam at the volleyball courts. We kept in touch here and there and eventually ended up going to the same college. We also both ended up working as summer staff at the same camp where we met as campers. But Adam hardly talked to me all summer, and completely took me by surprise when he asked me to be his date to his brother’s wedding on the last day of camp.
Ironically enough, Adam’s brother was marrying the very same counselor who had originally introduced us! Small world!
How did you and your fiancé get engaged?
I would be lying if I said I didn’t know something was up the night before he proposed… I just didn’t know what he was up to! He’d cancelled a run that we’d planned earlier that week because he “forgot to write a paper”. I knew something wasn’t right because it wasn’t like Adam to cancel plans, especially when they were exercise related. But I didn’t think too much into it…
The next morning I woke up to the most wonderful surprise. Adam had brought me breakfast in bed! Coffee (my favorite thing), a bagel, and a letter. Reading the letter, I realized that this was a little more than the typical breakfast in bed scenario, but before I could even question him, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Adam had once told me that no one expects to get engaged in the morning and he was most definitely correct! It’s a pretty good way to start the day!
What were your wedding colors and did you have a theme? How did you make this event personal?
Our wedding colors were very neutral and simple…. I loved the combination of champagne and ivory with a splash of navy. It’s so crisp and simple, yet so incredibly elegant and timeless!
