A Relaxing Bridal Shower: Spoiled At The Spa
Whitney Sexton is a woman who loves to be pampered. She’s a junkie for makeup, the color pink and all things “girly.” So, a spa theme wedding shower was the perfect way for Whitney and her maids to both relax and celebrate.
The ladies retreated to the spa at Cary’s The Umstead hotel. The ladies arrived at The Umstead’s Spa and immediately donned plush robes. They toured the spa and came back to a private spa suite for the party’s festivities. The ladies enjoyed a feast of beautiful and scrumptious finger food custom created by The Umstead’s culinary team, Oscar La Fuente, John Herdman, and Daniel Benjamin.
Foie gras and port crème brulee, parmesan custard, lump crab stuffed petit rigatoni, and coconut passion fruit cakes were just a few of the items the ladies savored as they relaxed in one another’s company. As a finale, each guest enjoyed her own mini-cake from Victoria’s Sweets and then it was off for the serious business of the day – relaxation and pampering.
The ladies all made individual service selections, with the luxury pedicure, the Babassu Sugar Scrub, and the European Facial being the most popular. To ease her wedding planning stress, the bride indulged in a customized massage.
With their services complete, the ladies departed with favor baskets brimming with pampering products to remind them of the day. The baskets contained blue and chocolate washcloths, bath salts, body balm, lip balm, and a brush from The Umstead Spa, as well as scents for bedding or drawers in a SPA DAY scent. Weddings Magazine burned custom CDs featuring selections from artists like Enya and Enigma. And as a tongue-in-cheek relaxation “last resort,” Weddings Magazine included test tube drink mixers – in a pinch the ladies can add their favorite liquor to the test tube for some instant unwinding.
