2018 Spotlight Part IV: Chapel Hill NC Wedding Venue
∴ With so many lovely farms and barns to choose from, it can be quite a challenge to choose the perfect one. However, in this post we cover one important factor that may help you make the choice- location, location, location! Will one of these options be the Chapel Hill NC wedding venue of your dreams?
This conveniently located Chapel Hill NC wedding venue boasts a barn, private lodge, gazebo, lake, and deck with stone fireplace. Many happy couples have chosen this venue in part because it can be used as a destination wedding venue. As a destination wedding venue, there’s a Friday-Sunday rental option and there are overnight accommodations for up to 24 guests.
The Lodge has stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that make it an ideal spot for a ceremony set against the backdrop of trees. However, the Lodge also offers romantic and fun accommodations. Couples have raved about the Master Suite, which features a fireplace, hot tub, waterfall wall, and baby grand piano. In addition to several other spaces, The Lodge has a guest room and a game room. The game room is a great spot for the bridal party to make memories, with game tables and other entertainment options.
The Barn at Valhalla‘s ground floor main hall is a lovely rustic reception space with plenty of room to dance. Meanwhile, the upstairs loft offers a space for 16 guests to sleep and/or prepare for the wedding. There is also plenty of outdoor deck space, with a fireplace, where guests can mingle under the stars and string lights.
The name “Lavender Oaks Farm” conjures up rustic romance set against a breathtaking countryside. The farm is aptly named as it’s an organic lavender farm with nine different varieties of lavender that bloom in late May and last through September. As if the lavender wasn’t dreamy enough, it attracts gorgeous jewel-toned butterflies while in full bloom. The farm is surrounded by 60 acres of lush forest.
There are two barns available for events: the Lavender Barn and the Pavilion Barn. The circa 1900s restored Lavender Barn is the signature venue, boasting 6,700 square feet of floor space as well as a 1,000 square feet loft. The temperature-controlled barn features high ceilings adorned with crystal and wrought iron chandeliers. There are two separate retreat rooms and a prep kitchen.
One of the retreat rooms has a private entrance and the other has double doors that open to the back patio, which features a white gazebo and overlooks the lavender fields and gardens. As a bonus, because all the lavender products are made in this barn, you could have customized lavender-themed favors created for your guests.
The circa 1860 restored Pavilion Bar is open on all sides and is ideal for more intimate affairs, featuring 1260 square feet of event space and views of both the lavender fields and surrounding forest. While this space would be well-suited for a smaller ceremony, it could also serve as a space for the rehearsal dinner or the cocktail hour of a larger wedding taking place in the Lavender Barn.
As we wrap up our farms and barns spotlight, we encourage you to consider several things when choosing the right venue. Of course, budget and guest accommodation are factors to consider no matter what type of venue you choose. Some other things to consider are whether there is any indoor space or backup plans for inclement weather. How easy is it to get around for guests who have limited mobility? Where are the bathrooms?
∴ For a bride who wants the perfect wedding day, these are no small details. Location is, of course, a vital factor in choosing the right venue as well. If you’re looking for a Chapel Hill NC wedding venue, The Barn at Valhalla and Lavender Oaks Farm are both excellent choices.
