There are plenty of great farm or barn options for your wedding, there’s no denying that! Things like location, vendor options, and total guest accommodation will surely factor into your decision when choosing the perfect one. Maybe you’re a country girl at heart who wants your big day to reflect that. But you know that in a rustic setting, you still want refined elements. The following farms would make great choices for your classy country wedding.
∴ Shady Wagon Farm
This 22-acre New Hill venue is luckily in a country setting while still being close to the triangle area. Up to 200 guests are accommodated and reviewers mention that Shady Wagon can really strike that balance between rustic and refined.
One of the farm’s notable features is a picture-perfect pond dock, ideal for ceremonies. The barn has a striking chandelier, and along with the attached pavilion, includes dreamy white fabric and fairy lights. A charming little country store on property is available for guests to peruse and for unique wedding party photos.
Venue access is from noon to midnight, so there is plenty of time to party! There’s a “primping parlor” and “grooming station. Lists of approved vendors give you plenty of options. Active duty military discounts are available.
∴ Oakland Farm

This Bear Creek farm boasts what it calls a “luxury barn.” The Oakland Farm barn accommodates 500 guests, is temperature controlled, and features a unique antler chandelier. There’s a nearby pavilion, and the venue’s total guest accommodation is 750. A 2-story, 4-bedroom farmhouse is included with all bookings. It’s a lovely place to stay, and for wedding party pictures.
There’s flexibility when choosing vendors here, and the barn offers a prep kitchen as well as a “bride’s room.” Tables, chairs, lighting and arches are provided. While each event space provides wonderful photo ops, other great photos here include horses, hay bales, and dazzling fall foliage.
∴ The Barn at Woodlake Meadows
Another Bear Creek venue, The Barn at Woodlake Meadows accommodates the most guests on this list at a maximum of 1000. The 52 acres of land include forest, pastures, a working farm with silos, animals, and a vineyard. Wedding parties have access to this venue for the entire weekend, from morning Friday- Sunday. This multi-day access means that rehearsal dinners can be held onsite, as well.
The Barn itself is a 2-story stunner with a rustic chandelier and stone fireplace. Other features include a kegerator, and several bars. Tables, chairs, and basic linens are provided. Ceremonies are typically held lakeside and feature a grapevine-covered arbor and a chapel façade on the opposite shore. The covered gazebo is perfect for a band or sound system.
Guests are sure to appreciate the animals and recreational opportunities. Animals include miniature donkeys and horses, llamas, and goats to name a few. Recreations include lawn games and skeet shooting. With all this venue offers, it’s a great option for a classy country wedding.

This 62-acre Pittsboro estate brings a bit of Europe to the countryside. Surprisingly elegant European-inspired details adorn some of the interior spaces and make for romantic pictures. Many reviewers note that the real draw of Het Landhuis is its outdoor spaces. Ceremonies have taken place in the natural beauty outdoors, and guests enjoy meandering the grounds.
Unique spaces include two waterside terraces with lovely fountains that can be used individually or together depending on the party size. An enchanting bridge aptly named the Bride’s Bridge is the walk down the aisle for ceremonies held in a breathtaking field. Guests are invited to wish the newlyweds all the best at a historic wishing well.
