A Tuscan Inspired Intimate Wedding at Melrose Knitting Mill
There is something to be said about a truly intimate wedding: Strip down a guest list to the bare minimum and it becomes a truly unique celebration of real love and family. This exquisite wedding at Melrose Knitting Mill did just that. With only 16 guests, the bride and groom were able to relax, soak it all in, and enjoy the small handful of people that mean the most to them.
Whiskey & White Events began planning this Italian-inspired fete by embracing the rustic elegance of the Melrose Knitting Mill. With its exposed terracotta brick and clean details, the venue was the perfect location for a Tuscan ceremony and reception.
She chose to begin the tablescape with a crisp white linen, topped with dusty lavender placemats. Rose gold flatware (to match the inside of the bride’s ring) was paired with Provencal white dinnerware, all provided by Classic Event & Tent Rentals Raleigh. Hammered rose gold napkin rings enveloped traditional Italian printed napkins sourced from Tuscany.
Arrangements on the table included candles nestled inside artichokes, fresh red grapes and moss with terracotta pots, with a gorgeous two-tiered cake at its center created by Cakes by Chloe. This sunning confection featured a gold brocade design on top of clean ivory and purple.
Above the table was an incredible custom structure hanging from the ceiling and covered with three magnificent arrangements by Purple Poppy Florist. This explosive floral display of mums, foliage, and roses in shades of pink and mustard yellow created the perfect focal point for the room, while still allowing guests to see each other and converse throughout the meal (as Italians are wont to do!).
Grid Creative Studio used the inspiration of traditional Italian tile work to design a custom stationery suite. Her menus and invitations used shades of lavender and sage to mirror the amorous color scheme of the table.
A fabulous Mediterranean menu complete with overflowing antipasti and perfectly cooked salmon and steak options was provided through Babylon.
The bride wore a romantic and simple lace gown from Maggi Bridal, with stunning intricate beaded shoulder details that met at a beautiful sweetheart neckline.
The entire event was so elegantly styled that it felt ripped from the rolling hills of Tuscany. The guests reveled in each other’s company and celebrated the bride and groom in a way that is only possible at a truly intimate wedding.
