Real Weddings: Kevin and Amanda – A Casual Edge
The Pavilion at Carriage Farm provided the ideal venue for Kevin and Amanda’s wedding. It was beautiful, elegant, and slightly traditional. At the same time, it had a casual and wild edge – just the same as the celebration itself.
Kevin and Amanda were married on the farm grounds under a pergola swathed in ivory chiffon and backed by a row of brilliant green trees. Just before they met at the altar, Kevin and Amanda had a special “first look” that included Kevin performing a love song that he wrote especially for Amanda. It was a special moment they shared in front of their bridal party and that was captured on film for posterity.
Amanda walked down an aisle of stone pavers scattered with ivory rose petals. She wore a magical strapless white gown that was covered by a lace, sleeved bodice just for the ceremony. The dress featured a jewel-encrusted belt and lace overlays. Amanda carried a bouquet of ivory and peach blooms accented with beautiful greenery. Her bridesmaids carried similar bouquets, and they wore flowing, strapless gowns in a soft mint chiffon. Kevin wore a striking steel blue three-piece suit with a matching tie and a white shirt and his groomsmen wore the same ensemble.
After the ceremony, the elated couple took photos on the picturesque farm, and guests moved inside The Pavilion for the reception. The Pavilion is a 10,000-square-foot space that looks like a rustic barn with endless possibilities. The interior features natural wood planks and beams that leads up to a vaulted ceiling with intricate chandeliers. The tables below were decorated with tall glass vases filled with ivory and peach blooms flanked by fresh greenery. Other tables featured smaller versions of these centerpieces, as well as garlands of greenery and candles, some floating in vases filled with water. Southern Petals provided the centerpieces and flowers.
Guests enjoyed an unforgettable meal catered by Cook Shack. The cake, which was created by Simply Cake, had three tiers and was designed with a simple layer of ivory frosting and a few garnishes of real flowers and a topper that proclaimed “Happily Ever After” in small script.
After dining and toasting, guests danced the night away to the music of the Inside Out Band. Kevin and his groomsmen also performed a selection of cover songs from the 90s and 00s – Amanda even jumped on stage to dance with her new husband and his band. At the end of the night, guests were able to enjoy a late snack from Carolina Popcorn.
Kevin and Amanda were given a sparkler send-off at the end of the night, and they left in a limo provided by Eco Style Transportation.
