Real NC Wedding: Cora Lee and Torin Jones by Whiskey & White Events
Cora Lee and Torin Jones
Classic Southern charm set the tone for the wedding of Cora Lee and Torin Jones. They were married at The Youngsville Baptist Church in North Carolina, which is where the bride’s parents and her grandparents both were married many years ago. The family’s pastor officiated over the ceremony. The bride and groom thought it was the perfect way to say their vows before family and friends, and start their new lives together as husband and wife.
“The bride wore a breath-taking Amsale gown, and her bridesmaids wore mauve convertible LuLu dresses. The groom and his groomsmen wore tuxedos with classic white dinner jackets and the entire party was a picture of Southern elegance.
The “unplugged ceremony” featured Themeworks mirrors instead of a paper program and Integrity Strings played the music for the ceremony.
The reception was held at The Sutherland, with an ambience that was casual yet elegant. A farmhouse sweetheart table displayed tables draped with garland and glittering “bride” and “groom” tags for the new couple. The guest tables were decorated with a mix of arrangements made by Tre Bella Floral, lanterns with candlelight, and black and white graphic plates with gold trim. The overall décor was a mix of traditional Southern allure with a modern twist.
Guests were asked to sign a vintage globe instead of a guest book, a token that will fit right in at their 100 year old house outside of D.C. proper.
A Rosemary Greyhound was served as the signature cocktail, and Themeworks mirrors were used for table assignments. Rocky Top Catering served the menu, that including a late-night biscuit bar with more than 20 different toppings. An eye-catching cake designed by Once in a Blue Moon was the sweet treat at the end of the evening.
The Fantasy Band played live throughout the evening while guests danced and enjoyed themselves. The band played hits from every era, but had a distinctively Motown vibe, which the bride’s mother described as “totally their style,” referring to the couple.
TAt the end of the night, Cora and Torin made their exit through a line of sparklers held up by guests.
