JESSICA’S SWEET BRIDAL LUNCHEON
A Love as Sweet as Honey
The loveliest thing a bride-to-be can do is to find a sweet way to celebrate the ladies that will be standing by her side, and thank them for all they have done and will do. And what could be sweeter than honey?
This beautifully designed bridesmaids luncheon honored the friends and family of one of Weddings Magazine’s own, and was hosted by the gracious Publisher and Director of Sales, Robyn Mangrum and Maureen Powell. They hand selected a team of talented local wedding vendors to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Jessica Siciliano, and helped her in thanking her loved ones for their support with a lovely afternoon of delicious food, sweets and gifts.
The Bradford in New Hill, North Carolina, with its quintessential provincial charm, set the perfect stage for this buzz worthy event. The team of C and D Events, who also own the venue, helped to conceptualize and execute the adorable bees and honey theme.
Invitations and paper from PaperBuzz set the tone for a lovely event in color and motif. Menu cards and tags were in the shape of honeycombs, and a luxe gold bee was emblazoned on the elegant invitation atop creamy stationery. Darling details were plentiful and cohesive, from the gold honeycomb-shaped candleholders to the dreamy vintage furniture provided by Greenhouse Picker Sisters.
The focal point of the decor was a stunning structure of floral design created by the incredible team at Blossom Floral Artistry. Woven into the antique ladder were fragrant dahlias mingled with succulents and roses in shades of sage, blush, and peach, while hanging blooms dangled delicately from the rungs.
A perfectly curated menu created by Catering Works brought the theme to life in flavor and aroma. Each course captured the essence of honey in a magical and thoughtful way, starting with passed hors D’ouvres, which included honey horseradish shrimp and peach bruschetta with honey Chevré, The artfully plated lunch (atop beautiful vintage china from Greenhouse Picker Sisters) began with a layered fruit salad with orange blossom honey crusted brie, followed by a salmon filet with acacia honey and ginger butter with sage honey glazed root vegetables. A delightfully creative cocktail, Burnt Honey Boxcars, as well as dandelion honey lemonade, raspberry punch and spa water, were the perfect accompaniments.
Dessert was a work of art in itself, as a gorgeous two-tiered cake with elegant layers of fondant with honeycomb texture and adorned with a gorgeous pastiage bumble bee in flavors of lavender and orange blossom from Cakes by Chloe.
In addition to delightfully full tummies, guests were gifted with adorable personalized honeypots from Bumble and Branch, each with their own honeycomb dipper.
The entire event was captured by the always talented Hooman Bahrani of Vesic Photography, who will also be photographing the couple’s wedding day.
